Review summary

In general this cruise was a very weird experience and not at all an experience equal to other RCCL experiences we have had in the past.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Dropping our bags were rather chaotic (Italian style) - but check-in was done in 10 minutes.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
In general the food was okay and generally speaking, the crew seemed tired and not at all interested (with a few exceptions)

Shoreside Dining Room

3 out of 5

We had my time dinning and managed to get a table when we wanted due to reservation in the cruise planner in advance. The service was okay and the food was from time to time not of the RCCL standard that we knew.

The Congo Bar

5 out of 5

We received the best service in the Congo bar.

Pool Bar

1 out of 5

The bartenders here were not at all interested in being on the ship. It took a long to even get their attention (on several occasions) even without a line.

Chops Grille

5 out of 5

After a week on the Mediterranean with mediocre service we were really happy that we chose to eat at chops on the last night of our cruise. Our waiter was amazing and the food was really tasteful.

Service and Staff

1 out of 5
Unfortunately we can’t give the staff onboard Jewel on this particular cruise more than 1 star. The service was sloppy, the ship was dirty and for several days classes and plates would not be removed from public areas of the ship. The crew seems very tired and didn’t seem to want to be onboard. We felt that we were in their way quite a few times - some were rude some just ignored us.

Ship Quality

The ship wasn’t clean!
