Review summary

You should see Alaska where cars can't get to and only seen by boat. Very pretty. Be aware the temperature is much lower than most people are use to. Rain gear is also really handy.

Embarkation

Our staff help was very kind, respectful, happy and helpful. Shakey as he asked us to call him did a great job on our room and our waiter, Eshville was spot on giving the recommendations at dinner. His recommendations, not the chef's, was always spot on with the recommendations on the starters and the main courses. The other staff was also very helpful and polite. One staff member also knew I was on the wrong end of the ship looking for my room because he knew everyone on that end of the ship which was pretty amazing.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Ate at the Windjammer and the dining room. Didn't try the specialty restaurants. The waiter didn't say anything bad about any dishes, but he knew which ones were the best and he was right all week long.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Enjoyed the Piano Maam and her playing. The game activities were fun. Sylvia did a great job on these. The ice skating was very good. The comedian on the main stage was very good as well. Tried the rock climbing wall. Wanted to try the water surfing activity but it was too cold. The Jacuzzi and steam room was very enjoyable. Did the foot analysis and bought some insoles to help my walking which was helpful.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Enjoyed each performance. Remember the comedian and the ice skating.

Children's Programs

Didn't bring any children, but the golf ball exhibit on that floor was really cool.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
As noted above they get Gold Stars from me.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
It always seemed clean, with that many people, that much food, that much traffic, they did very well. I routinely saw someone cleaning something somewhere on the ship all the time.

Cabin / Stateroom

We were comfortable and utilized our space well. Shakey gets a Gold Star! My wife even took a picture with him.

Ship tip

Use those ship maps at the bottom of each stair case. Really helpful in getting around.
