Review summary

This was the most relaxing cruise we have taken. Because of the number of number of sea days they held an unbelievable Buffett in the general lounge area that took my breath away. It was absolutely beautiful and delicious. I have never seen anything like it. All of the chefs were introduced and acknowledged for their contributions, which was thoughtful and well deserved. The Christmas decorations were also top notch. There were "Santas Helpers" who made sure every detail was attended to on the ship. there were beautiful 6 foot Nutcrackers and reindeer and trees that made you believe Santa is coming to town. The decorations were terrific and really put us in the Christmas mood. The only observation I have is that the typical cruiser is going to be older because it is easier to navigate the ports on this cruise and it is a mild weather cruise. Many of the cruisers had walking problems. We had a great time and would recommend it is you just want to relax and see the sights.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
This was my 4th Crystal Cruise. the food keeps getting better each time. Just wonderful.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
the typical customer on this cruise was well over 70. That mens that the entertainment was geared towards the really elderly. Although w are "older", we would have preferred more contemporary entertainment and less show tunes and ball room dancing.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The DJ come on very late which means those of yes who have early excursions are unable to enjoy it. I also think that the overwhelming slant towards those over 75 leaves a lot to be desired.

Service and Staff

EVERYONE is wonderful not his ship. This is my 3rd time on this ship and seeing staff members again, who remembered us, was amazing and made us feel at home.

Ship Quality

The remodel is truly outstanding. I just wish that the "regular" cabinets could be updated a little more. But they really are very nice and the staff makes sure that it is comfortable and clean.

Ship tip

If you sail on the Symphony, exact to be spoiled. venthough I would prefer a "younger" approach to entertainment and on board activities they are truly wonderful in every aspect of the trip. Weather prevented us from going to the Grand Cayman. We received an announcement at 8:00 am that the weather would not allow us to tether out. The captain told us we would be going to Cozemel instead. Revised activities were communicated within 1 hour and revised shore excursions communicate within 2 hours. They apparently have the Plan B concept mastered. I am impressed but not surprised. They are an amazing team.

Disembarkation

the only reason why I did not sy excellent is because many of us had to wait 3-4 hours at the airport, which is really a long time. It would have been nice to have had less time to wait.
