Review summary

We loved this cruise, and met some new friends who we plan to stay in touch with.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We had 1/3 capacity, so embarkation was the easiest we have had yet. Less than 10 minutes from curb to ship. Awesome!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Main dining room serves satisfying meals with excellent service. Buffet is good for Breakfast and lunch. Murano was not worth the big up-charge, the food just wasn’t worth it but staff was impeccable. The burgers and dogs are awful, come on Celebrity, you can do better!

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
There is always something going on. Celebrity does a good job of scattering activities all over the ship every day.

Solarium

5 out of 5

The solarium is a great place if you want a more peaceful environment and shelter from the wind.Healthy snacks too!

Shops on the Boulevard

2 out of 5

The shops are ho-hum. Poor selection of overpriced swag, watches, and jewelry. I wish Celebrity would get with it and use this space for selling better products at fair prices. What a waste of space.

Entertainment

Sky Observation Lounge

5 out of 5

This is the reason we sail on Solstice class ships. Our favorite place on the ship, especially in Alaska.Top notch bartenders too!

Celebrity Theater

4 out of 5

The shows and magician where good and very entertaining. The comedian scraped the bottom of the barrel. Distasteful race rants and jokes I heard decades ago. Toss that guy overboard and get a real comic. Hello Celebrity, are you reading this??

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
This was our 9th cruise. The service staff on this ship were exceptional. Servers in the buffet are kind and wonderful to converse with. Our MDR team was top notch. Arun and Mathieu treated us like kings and were a perfect 10.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship was always clean and the staff where constantly working on keeping it immaculate. I love the layout of this class, however the ship is showing it’s age with worn furnishings both in cabins and public areas. Major dry dock must be in the near future for this fine vessel.

Cabin / Stateroom

Ship tip

Stay away from the scams they attempt to sell you in the fitness center. It is unfortunate that you can’t just go use the gym without shady sales tactics for a plethora of bloated products pitched in a predatory manner. I am insulted the cruise line allow this. Absolutely classless.

Ports of call

Catalina Island, California

5 out of 5
We LOVED Catalina! I thought it would be a throw away stop, but were pleasantly surprised with a beautiful little town with great shopkeepers and a nice selection of shops and restaurants. We will be back for sure! Do not stay on the ship!

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

4 out of 5
Cabo was very busy. A port packed with boats coming and going. Good shirt shops with fair prices and selection, loads of places to eat and drink. Might come back and stay in a resort. We walked to the famous Cabo Wabo and met friendly locals along the way. Stay away from the Starbucks! Mask Police!

San Diego, California

5 out of 5
We walked along the waterfront and found numerous gems. Our first time in San Diego, and we will definitely return!
