Review summary

Guest Services desk is hopeless on every level, from start of cruise to finish. Wifi was horrible, both packages! You pay for streaming but it’s impossible. Dining room staff were exceptional. Room steward was the best ever! But the guest services staff ruined the entire cruise for us. We will never sail Celebrity Solstice again. That’s too important a part of the cruise experience to have to deal with unprofessional and untrained staff who couldn’t care less about guests.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Dining staff and room stewards were WONDERFUL! Guest Services department couldn’t have been worse. Everything they did was wrong! And having 2 reps on the desk on sea days??? Guests waited over an hour in line to straighten out billing issues etc. And same department didn’t even answer the phones when you called them from your room! Ever! The GS manager and director were absolutely hopeless! Staff couldn’t count out change, add or subtract charges. Honestly on over 30 previous cruises we have NEVER experienced such incompetence in the guest service/reception staff. Never will I sail the Solstice again.

Ship Quality

Design good; common areas lacked attention. Toilets not working in public restrooms.

Cabin / Stateroom

Cabin steward did a perfect job! Best ever. But there was such little storage, drawers, etc. Plenty of space for it. Just poorly designed.

Ship tip

If you can’t cancel and get your money back, then watch your onboard account CAREFULLY. Expect to be disappointed if you have to work with Guest Services Dept.

Lovely city. Walking around is wonderful! The walk from the cruise ship to the Empress Hotel and Chinatown is lovely!! Lots to see; beautiful gardens. Exceptionally clean city. Not to be missed!

Disembarkation

It would have been nice if we’d been told that there are TWO SIDES of luggage in the luggage hall! One side for our ship and the other side for the other ship disembarking! Very confusing when you see two of every luggage tag number and have no idea why!
