It was an enjoyable trip with great food and service.

Embarkation

We were in a suite so able to check-in quickly due to a special line. Once checked in staff escorted us onto the ship and to Michaels Club to wait until room was ready.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
This was by far the best cruise food we have ever had on a trip. The buffet layout was perfect which minimized congestion and the food on buffet was good quality. Highly recommend getting a specialty dining plan because all the dining venues were amazing.

Murano Restaurant

5 out of 5

The food was amazing and highly recommend the chateaubriand for two with lobster. It melts in your mouth. Great wine list also.

The Lawn Club Grill

5 out of 5

Very fun to eat up on the top deck as you sail. We ate here for a regular meal and a special event bbq. The special event was so much fun and served family style. There was so much food and at one point just had to tell the server to pass me up.

Tuscan Grille

5 out of 5

The restaurant is absolutely beautiful and I highly recommend getting a reservation at sunset. The food and service is top notch.

Le Petit Chef at Qsine

Such a fun experience. The food was very good. Just to note, there are 2 different menus. It changes mid way through cruise.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We didn’t participate in many planned activities other than a trivia game and bingo. It was fun. The pools were nice, but very hard to find a chair. I loved the solarium.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
I usually never go to shows on a cruise. Ventured out on this trip and I was pleasantly surprised. The production shows were good, but the guest entertainers were fantastic.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
I’ve sailed on several other cruise lines and the service on celebrity was the best. Everyone was go out of the way to greet you and do it with a smile. All the staff looked generally happy to be there. We loved the sunset bar staff, especially Kennedy.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ship had a great layout inside, but I missed some of the outdoor space that Princess offers and really missed the movies under the stars. Such a ridiculous thing to complain about, but most of outdoor decks have the glass that go about 6 ft high around the railing. I understand it cuts down on wind but not many places to hang out on railing that’s open. I would go to 5th floor for that. Just a personal preference not a big issue. In regards to cleanliness, overall ship was very clean. Only complaint would be in buffet there was shortage of staff to clean up dishes and glasses to free up the tables.

Ship tip

Book the specialty dining package pre-cruise and take advantage of 1st night discounts at specialty restaurants. I recommend the suites not only for extra room, but all the perks that come with it. We sailed the Mediterranean during shoulder season and there were some ports that were still pretty crowded. I can’t imagine how bad it is in the summertime. I would recommend shoulder season sailing for this trip.

Ports of call

Piraeus (Athens), Greece

We did small group excursion for highlights of Athens. Enjoyed the historical side of the city, but not my favorite port.

Valletta, Malta

Our excursion to Blue Grotto was cancelled so walked the city on our own. Very hilly!!! We visited the cathedral which was amazing.

Santorini, Greece

We did an excursion to Oia. The city was beautiful and we did some independent touring by walking about 10 miles on cliff trail. Great day!! There are a couple of little bars at bottom of cable car to enjoy some drinks before rendering. Try Santorini white whine. Yummy!! Side Note, there were 2 ships in port and it seemed crowded. Tour guide said in summer there can be up to 10 ships. I can’t imagine. Recommend doing Mediterranean trip during shoulder season.

Rhodes, Greece

Our excursion to the beach was cancelled due to weather. We walked around the city and toured the castle. Enjoyed the ease of this port due to it being outside city gates.

Barcelona, Spain

4 out of 5
We spent 3 days pre-cruise in Barcelona. The architecture is amazing and there is much to visit. However, I found it a little too touristy and crowded for my liking. I recommend Casa Camper hotel if you want a neat place to stay and it is centrally located.

Mykonos, Greece

5 out of 5
Cute little town and for 20 euro a person you can take a ferry to Paradise Beach. We had a great beach day.

Messina, Sicily

5 out of 5
Loved this port because we took a private excursion to Taormina and Savoca. It was absolutely beautiful.

Disembarkation

Very organized. They called groups evenly spaced out and there were no line or chaos like I’ve witnessed on other cruise lines.
