High hopes but disappointment on excursions

Verified Review

Sail Date: / Traveled As: Family (young children)

When arriving on board we immediately booked our shore excursions wanting to take advantage specifically of swimming with the sting rays in Grand Cayman. We booked and looked forward to event all werk. We arrived at 10 but excursion wasn't  scheduled until 1. We were first off the first tender boat and walked around until  time to meet up only to discover that the tour had been cancelled. We wasted all that time and could have booked something on our own only to be addressed in rude manner by celebrity attendant. Total disappointment from my son and a

missed opportunity for us to experience what we wanted to do and why we picked this cruise specifically during his spring break. The next day in Jamaica we had another scheduled that was not organized and planned well. Was supposed to include lunch which ended up being take out provided to us on the bus because the tour times were so skewed. We rushed and never had time to shop like we were supposed to. Both tours were scheduled through celebrity and not cheap but provided lots of frustration and disappointment. No apologies were ever offered up by any of the staff. For the cost of the cruise and excursions I feel

like I just wasted my money. Will go back to cruising with carnival or

royal Caribbean again.

Celebrity Reflection first timer

The Reflection  is a beautiful  ship. It's the perfect size not too big not too small,  holding about 3000 passengers.  You can feel a higher level service on celebrity  from the staff.   I believe there is a higher staff to passenger ratio on their ships. It was very easy boarding and disembarking from Miami.  The main dining room offered good food every night.  The buffet in the morning was great to you could sit outside on the back of the boat and enjoy your breakfast.  The ports of call were nice as well we visited Cozumel, Grand Cayman, Jamaica and Labadee.

Beautiful ship

The ship is beautiful, looks brand new.  Balconies a good size.  Bathrooms very compact but efficient & lots of storage.  Entertainment was a disappointment.  Comedy shows are always good, but production shows, were slow & boring, too bad.  Not enough people working the bars, so hard to get a drink.  Specialty restaurant  are taking over at a very high price, even though the quality is excellent, but to pay $50 extra pp to eat in just one of them is crazy.  MDR seems like it's lost its flair, quality, service d/t specialty restaurant.  Now need to figure in $200-$300 extra for dining, is it worth it?  Shopping on board ship is either high end or nothing you would want.  Just wanted a tee-shirt but couldn't find one.  I would definitely sail this ship again, maybe factor extra money for food & not plan on much entertainment.  Could go to spa, but while that's a small fortune.Happy

Amazing ship

Beautiful ship!  The staff exceeding our expectations.

The only bad part was the harsh return to reality at the port terminal in Miami.   There is opportunity to improve the traffic patterns to get to your shuttles to airport, hotel, car rental buses and Uber/Lyft.

Reflections of our Cruise

Favorite part was the cooperation of the weather.  Just beautiful our whole trip. Along with the friendliness of ALL staff members.  I did not pass one crew member that didnt say Good morning, hello, hi, a nod whatever.  And yes, the food especially at the Ocean View Buffet was just tremendous.  But everything served should be labeled.  Not everything was to determine what the dishes were.  There were not enough servers on the decks when sitting in lounge chairs on 15, and indoor pool area.  We had to get up to get our drinks which made the bars full and lengthy in time getting our drinks.  the picture prices are quite high.  Im sure there is more waste in trash of pictures than bought.  I bought two only and I didnt even get a cardboard holder for my prints to keep them safe in packing and now storage with the celebrity cruise on the folder.  Carnival does that!!  I even asked for one.  The guys said sorry.  Keep in mind we have to travel home.  We dont want those expensive pictures bent up in our luggage as the folders would protect them better than plastic.  The shops werent that overwhelming to me.  Very high-end in fact too much high end, too many watches!!  The green areas to me was much wasted space.  Additional pool would be nice.  seems like more bartenders are needed at all bars!  Waiting time was too much at different bars!  Also you sell Rum Chata at the duty station on the ship BUT you do not serve or sell at ANY bars at all.  ??? Nice pm drink to have.  YES, I would extremely recommend this ship to anyone I speak to....I already have!!!LoveBig Smile  Beautiful ship!  All the crew...EXCELLENT! Wink

I have already recommended the cruise to others.  Loved the ship, the band and dancing on the 3rd floor and the pools and deck.

Sushi on 5 was outstanding.

Passport Bar on 3 was the best place to hangout.

Opus food was enjoyable, but service was inconsistent.

Buffet had enormous food choices.......

We loved our cabin and deck. Waking up daily to see the Atlantic Ocean was enchanting. We enjoyed the food, walking the upper decks and the entertainment. Sue was a hoot.

We are experienced cruisers, and this trip was without a hitch. Everyone, from our cabin stewart, Ian, to Sue, the cruise director, was friendly, enthusiastic and professional. The ship is clean and well maintained. The food was varied and delicious. The talented entertainers were great! No negatives at all.

Lovely cruise except for lack of pool chairs

Verified Review
/
Sail Date: / Traveled As: Family (older children)

Everything about the cruise was good if not excellent including food, entertainment, shore excursions, ports, ship, cleanliness and particularly we loved our dining waiters and cabin attendant. The only downside to the Celebrity Reflection ship is the extreme lack of pool chairs--every single person on board we talked to was also complaining. The first two sea days we were never able to get a chair. The third sea day we got up at 6:30 a.m. to get a chair--in the shade. Kind of sad. People hold chairs all day and the pool butlers never pull their stuff off. If you're not a person that hangs at the pool you will be very happy with this cruise. If that is important to you try a different ship.

Highly recommend the Reidel Crystal Workshop while at sea. Amazing information, but for the price you get a set of the tasting glasses for each paid person. Also recommend the Wine/Food pairing workshop, taught by a Sommelier, who definitely knows his stuff!
