Traveled as: Couple

Review summary

We were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary on this cruise. The staff of celebrity treated us like royalty. The food and service was wonderful. The few times there were issues, they were fixed quickly and with apologies. One thing we would do differently in the future is choose a cruise with a few more sea days. We needed the sea days to rest after the port days. Loved it all!

Embarkation

We were exhausted after our long flight from Phoenix to Dublin. Exhausted and a little irritable. The staff put us at ease, got us on board quickly, and plied us with food, champagne, and smiles.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We're not usually buffet people, but this ship had the highest quality buffet food we've ever had. Mostly we ate in the main dining room. Perfecto (waiter) and Ronaldo (sommelier) were amazing. Qsine, however, was a disappointment. Simply not worth the money.

Champagne Bar / Martini Bar

5 out of 5

So many choices! Make sure you've got good alcohol tolerance. You won't want to miss the drinks or the show.

Oceanview Cafe and Bar

5 out of 5

I usually avoid the buffet except for snacks. The food here was as good as the full service restaurants.

Passport Bar

5 out of 5

Try the applewood smoke infused rum.

Le Petit Chef at Qsine

Don't waste your time. The evening felt disjointed, the animations interrupted the flow of the meal, the food was mediocre, and the staff was too. The only big disappointment on an otherwise fabulous trip.

Opus (Main) Dining Room

5 out of 5

Great food, friendly service, and we met amazing other cruisers. Having small tables that are close together allow you to mingle or not without forcing the issue.Bravo to Perfecto and Rolando!

Cafe al Bacio and Gelateria

5 out of 5

Best coffees, teas, and pastries on the ocean!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Stephen, the activities director, and his crew were fantastic. Especially Vish!

Shops on the Boulevard

3 out of 5

Most were great, but avoid the jewelry store unless you like high pressure sales.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Giuseppe, the cruise director, was beyond perfect. He was funny, friendly, and seemed to go out of his way to know as many passengers as possible. The quality of the shows was great, but the variety could have been better. The guest artists were almost all singers. They were good singers, but they were still singers.

The Lawn Club

5 out of 5

Love this place for an evening cigar and a bourbon. Sea air, ocean views, real grass,. What more could you ask for?

Reflection Theater

5 out of 5

Beautiful venue and great shows. The production show cast was stellar.

Children's Programs

My child is too old for the children's program.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Everything was great with the exception of the jewelry store staff. "No, thank you" does not mean "push harder."

Ship Quality

Beautiful

Cabin / Stateroom

Everyone should be lucky enough to have a cabin steward like Shaka, he was the best!

Ship tip

Take the time to get to know the staff.

Ports of call

Dublin, Ireland

Our excursion to the Giant's Causeway was amazing but the city itself was kind of depressing.

Belfast, Northern Ireland

Liverpool, England Did not visit port

We chose an excursion to Wales instead.

Cobh (Cork), Ireland

Loved the port. Hated the tour guide. That, of course had nothing to do with the cruise ship, but after investigating our concerns, Celebrity refunded the cost.

Dover (London), England

5 out of 5
Go to Canterbury! Go Punting! Tour the Cathedral! Eat and drink in a local pub! You won't regret it.

Le Havre (Paris), France

4 out of 5
The city wasn't friendly and rather dirty, but the church of St. Joseph is a must see. The Modern art museum was lovely. And, the pastries were to die for.

Zeebrugge (Bruges), Belgium

5 out of 5
Go into town early before the crowds because it did get crowded. The architecture was beautiful, the locals were friendly, the chocolate was superb and occasionally XXX rated.

Amsterdam, Netherlands Did not visit port

We disembarked and went straight to the airport. Worst airport experience of my life, but the overall trip was so great I'd face it again.
