Review summary

We had a fantastic time with family for this Christmas cruise. All was as expected on a cruise...except the dinner service. We enjoyed the shops both onboard and in the ports, the spa, and the overall experience. Our room steward was outstanding! However, other cruise lines have had better service, so we may be using a different cruise line in the future.

Embarkation

Easy to get onboard and begin the fun!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Food was inconsistent. We had a group of ten, so we had many chances to compare the same order. Examples include steaks of different sizes, seafood (i.e. scallop and shrimp) with different amounts from 1 - 5 at same meal, some Creme Brule desserts were done while others were runny. There was a good variety. The lobster tail that was offered for an additional fee was only about 3 bites...way too small for the money.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
We went to all of the evening shows. They were okay; nothing special or memorable, but not bad. Games often started late...up to 30 minutes late. The spa and pool were nice to enjoy.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The shows were okay. They weren't memorable, but they were entertaining.

Children's Programs

No children onboard

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Our room steward, Michael, was fantastic. He always was available and made the room look nice. I'd give him a full 5 stars! Our waiters were not good. It took an hour to get appetizers, let alone the meals, the first two nights. It took over an hour and 15 minutes to get refills on water, and other drinks (such as tea) were not offered the first two nights. I spoke with the maître de and things did improve with Charles, but it still wasn't the type of service I've had on other cruises. Dinners were never hot and were a big disappointment.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship was very clean and well laid out. Signs were helpful to get around.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We loved the veranda and the layout of the room. Plenty of storage and space!
