Review summary

Cruise was better than OK. Boarding was just OK. Leaving was worst we have ever endured! NEVER, NEVER, NEVER AGAIN! Looking down at your (not my) overall rating I feel that you are stacking the deck in your favor! My estimate would be certainly no more than 3.0.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Found some congestion between bus and Check-in area.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Room, buffets and dining room were better than expected. Did not like having to obtain a 'ticket' from Deck 5 before being allowed into the dining Room on Deck 3. It's NOT Your Time Dining, it's THEIR Time Dining! Did not eat at Specialty Restaurants.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Enjoyed Magic Show

Entertainment

Service and Staff

Ship Quality

did not like having to walk thru Casino.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Nice Balcony, Decent room, small bathroom, large shower.

Ship tip

Be prepared for mass confusion and lack of aid from Carnival the moment you step off the ship. Luggage numbers are just scattered around warehouse. One found, you then have to muscle your way to Customs. Good luck trying to get into the elevator to the ground. People with suitcases (plural) were being told to use the escalator! Porters & carts pushing into line for elevator. Utter mob scene. Then try to find your bus! People going to LGA were directed to JFK buses, etc. No guidance. No order to bus positions.

Ports of call

New York, New York

We will not book into or out of NY Port Terminal in the future.

Boston, Massachusetts

5 out of 5
Been to Boston before. enjoyed the Hop on / Hop off trolley.

Portland, Maine

5 out of 5
Nice town, a bit crowded with multiple ships in Port. We think some ships were here to miss the storms.

Saint John, New Brunswick

5 out of 5
Again, we think the hurricanes may have caused some ships to have been re-routed. Very nice town, worth a visit.

Halifax, Nova Scotia

5 out of 5
Excellent area. Well worth a visit. Five ships in Port, but easily handled by this town!

Disembarkation

Is there a way to give FIVE MINUS STARS. This was a disaster! Porter rushing the elevators. Incoming and exiting passengers crossing each other. People with luggage told to use escalator! One elevator out of service. No organization or direction to correct bus. Porter pushing thru standing lines to get to nowhere, as buses were not marked. Carnival personnel actually directed LGA passengers to a JFK bus. Our bus dropped everyone at a bus stop near LGA without regard to Terminal location. Long, Long walk w/bags. NO MORE NY cruises!
