Sunrise was not quite ready for prime time. contarct work was being done throughout the cruise. CLTV system was poor - no map channel

For any show, just make sure you are about a half hour early for a good seat
Felice1112
Get up early to avoid buffet lines, or go to Sunrise Restaurant for good sit down breakfast/brunch/lunch

Relax, enjoy, and remember that the crew are not on vacation, but are working long hours on back to back cruises doing the best they can to make the passengers comfortable.

Don’t sweat the small stuff. Enjoy it’s vacation

Stay positive! I worried myself sick reading reviews and at the end of the day, it is what you make it.

On embarkation day, for lunch, don't head to lido. Go to Guy's Pig & Anchor BBQ. It is not that busy and it's really good food!

For lunch, you have many options. I recommend trying the Italian just above the Lido (free during lunch). Also Guy's Pig & Anchor on embarkation and Sea Days. Lucky Bowl is new and has a rotating menu, give that a try.

Less seating on Sunrise as compared to Sunshine. With that and Lido being on the 9th deck, you will find additional seating on the 10th where the Italian restaurant is located. You can bring food from lido or Pig and Anchor and sit there. During our cruise, we were half capacity, so no real challenge with seating. I suspect that it will be more of a challenge when things are normal again.

Bring ear guards for the crew. They have to wear N95 masks which, due to their very snug fit, can be painful on the ears. The crew isn't able to get shore leave at this time and ordering from Amazon can take at least a month to get.

If you decide to eat on Lido, get there 10 minutes before they open. Food is obviously more fresh and there's no line. Bring your own Yeti cup or similar for coffee or drinks. Don't eat in the Lido dining area. Get your food and walk to the back of the ship where the pizza area is. There are NO crowds there ever. Bring your own toppings for the ice cream. It made a huge difference for me. Order water for your room in advance. If you want to order additional food in the MDR (appetizer or even entree) do it! They have no problem with it.

If you need conditioner for you hair bring your own.

For first timers , play the casino with your room card inserted in the machine. You will be surprised at how Carnival gives huge discounts on your next cruise because they identify you as a gambler.

Book cabin 5357 if you're looking for a great interior cabin.

Dont worry about the small stuff....you will enjoy your time on the ship, even though it is one of the older ships. We had no problems except for the people across the hall from us, who thought you could use the hall for a pizza party at 3:00 am....We quickly nipped that in the bud.

Be prepared that guests do smoke cigarettes/weed and vape on their balconies and on the Serenity deck. I informed the cruise member on the deck and nothing was done (vapor) so I didn't mention it while on my balcony. I just went back into my cabin. Also, be prepared that guests will cross through the main dining room to get to the mid elevators, in their Swimsuits, and no one would stop them. I particularly didn't appreciate booties and breasts with my appetizers and entrees.
