Review summary

The point of this cruise was to relax, watch the sunsets and read a few books. Paradise is still a jewel in the fleet. Weather was perfect in early May. Mostly adults on this cruise. It was a blast- marred only by the bad food on the last sea day.

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
First 3 nights the MDR dinners and sea day brunch were great. It went downhill fast on days 4 & 5. Bad leftovers and weird menu choices ruled the end of our cruise. Carved turkey on day 4 lunch was served with cold mashed potatoes and bland gravy. No stuffing or carrots. The same turkey, much drier, was served at dinner on day 5. This time with no gravy or mashed potato. The side choice was rice with lentils- left over from the MDR Indian veggie entree. There was a pasta dish with shrimp in a tomato ceam sauce (from leftover tomato soup!) and it was cold. Not even lukewarm. These are a few examples. Carnival needs to quickly improve this or they will lose bookings. Thankfully the pizza and deli gave some hot food choices.

Onboard Activities

This is my favorite place on the ship. Lots of people playing board games and it has comfy couches at the windows.

Blue Riband Library

Large, comfy space with game tables. I curled up with a book for most of this cruise.

Cabin / Stateroom

Cabin is very small with no desk or chair. But who cares- nice balcony!

Ship tip

Just go for a cheaper cabin on a shorter cruise. Paradiae has lots of cool places to sit and watch the water pass by.

Ports of call

Cozumel, Mexico

This time we stayed on the ship. Made one trip to port to buy coffee, chocolate, and vanilla extract. The necessities of life.

George Town, Grand Cayman

I love this island. We snorkled at Governor's Beach. The water was calm, clear, and warm. Perfect in every way.
