Review summary

All-in-all it was fine. The first day challenges with luggage and room delivery issues really made it a rough start and gave me a bad taste for Carnival. In general it was fine for a low end price point. In the future I would not cruise on such a small ship, and I would hope that the service issues would not be repeated if I choose to try Carnival again.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We bought Faster to the Fun so embarkation was a breeze!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Food was okay, the burger joint and Blue Iguana were the best experiences. Nearly every drink ordered was done wrong - how hard is it to NOT put salt on a margarita when order without salt?

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Pool, waterslide, and ping-pong were the majority of what we did. Things were fine.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Only saw 2 shows, they were good.

Children's Programs

Our children did not participate in the children's programs.

Service and Staff

2 out of 5
Steward was great! We mostly dined in buffets and the staff working those was good. My 2 largest issues were A) NOT receiving our luggage until nearly all other luggage had been delivered to everyone on board, even though we paid for Faster to the Fun for fast delivery. I wasted hours waiting for and checking on luggage, even checking a hallway full of luggage myself to see if I could find it because the staff on board did not know where it was. There was even a period of time where they could not even promise me that it was on board, this being 2 hours after we set sail. Thankfully we finally did receive both suitcases. B) My second issue was that I ordered items to be delivered to the guest room for my kids, and only part of the order was delivered. When I asked about it I was told to check back, then the second time I asked I was told that they were out of stock on board. I purchased the items and prepaid months before the cruise, what poor customer service to not make sure prepaid and preorderd items are not on board to be delivered as expected, and which I have not et been refunded for.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Layout is fine and cleanliness was top notch.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Size and cleanliness were great! The comfort of the sofa bed was acceptable. The noise level was unacceptable. We heard footsteps from overhead all the time, and noise from the hallway was too much as well. I doubt that I would stay on this ship again if I were to try Carnival a second time.

Ship tip

It is a smaller boat so you will feel the motion of the ocean much more than on the larger vessels.

Ports of call

Tampa, Florida Did not visit port

We fly in to catch teh cruise, but did not venture out and about in the town.

George Town, Grand Cayman

Everything seemed clean and accessible. Our tour guide was PHENOMENAL and really looked out for us throughout the day. Glennie was his name and he was just fantastic!

Cozumel, Mexico

We booked an excursion independent of the cruise line and went to Chankanaab Park to swim with the dolphins, manatees, and lounge about. It was very easy and inexpensive to get around, everyone was very friendly, shopping was plentiful and fun, and my entire family had a great day with some amazing photographs!

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
We chose to carry our own luggage off the ship. Although the lines were long, they moved quickly. Even though the line was wrapping around hallways and through the 7th deck, in total it took only about 20 minutes to get off the ship.
