This spirit class ship is just like the pride, Legend, and Spirit ships. Smaller than the newer ships so it's easier to avoid big crowds. The top deck area tends to be very full during the day on the Hawaii cruise so if you have a balcony you may want to look out at the ocean from your room.

Try Nick and Nora's Steakhouse. It was excellant. We also saved alot of time and money booking our excursions on shore.

At the end of all cruises, Carnival holds a Farewell Party where drinks and sometimes hors d'oeuvres are complementary. For some reason, it isn't well publicized and poorly attended. Don't pass this one up. It will be listed in "Fun Times" but without any details.

On any cruiseline, be sure to pack a beach bag to stow your belongings when visiting the pool or visiting a beach in port. Keeping you stuff out of sight in a bag is prudent.

If you are waitlisted for any dining option, be sure to stop at the Maitre 'd as soon as you board the ship. Lines can get long later & you will have a better chance of getting you choice if you do so early.

Don't over pack. On casual nights, capris, dress shorts & nice jeans can be worn in the dining room.

On any ship, if you experience a problem don't wait until the end of the cruise to complain in a survey. This doesn't make you a good pasenger. Speak up right away & let the cruise director, front desk, waiter or maitre'd fix it. All cruiselines want to make you happy & go out of their way to help.

Try to go a little earlier than december if you can. The water and weather is great for that time of year, but if the wind gets going to much it might be to cold for swimming, if only barely. Also if you choose to do the Airboats and Alligators tour it helps to have slightly warmer weather so the gators are out more.

WRITE DOWN THE DIRECTIONS TO YOUR ROOM UNTIL YOU MEMORIZE IT. THE THEME PICTURES ARE A GREAT HELP. LET THE STAFF TAKE YOUR PICTURES. THEY ARE GREAT MEMORIES. TRY ACTIVITIES YOU NEVER OR RARELY ENGAGE IN AS WELL AS YOUR ROUTINE ONES.

If its only two of you, rather than wait for a dining room table in the evening, agree to be seated with others. We met some lovely people at meal times and picked up a few tips about the scheduled destinations.

Lido deck had variety of food. 24/7 was the best; after a show in Phantom; take a walk upstairs, sip a hot coffee and/or pizza. My daughter looked back during de-embarkation, and said we are coming back soon.
