Carnival Miracle 7 day cruise The BAD, BAD FOOD , violently ill in the middle of the night BAD FOOD, and I'm not that picky, would have happy with fast food quality, My first cruise but have traveled extensively and spent 3 years in Jamaica in the Peace Corps 1980's Never have I gotten as sick as on the cruise in 20 country’s but I had Gamma globulin injections which I would recommend for cruising By bad I mean frozen, canned cold, institutional style food, poorly prepared, improper food handling (45 years in the food industry) Last nights salmon making its way to breakfast as salmon eggs benedict, fine use of resources but hot, cold hot, cold is a recipe for disaster How do you make a taco worse than taco bell, ask Carnival Simple rack to drain the grease of the bacon would be a plus Monitor temp of recycled food would be nice A microwave and some stoffers would have made me happy Fresh fruit but out in the open for everyone to handle and no way to wash it, I think most figured that out as I never saw anyone eating it Only one kitchen on the ship so same buffet food for a 20.00 up charge in the dining room, (I checked the Buffet on my way back to my room) Garnish on oyster appetizer in dining room looked like it was from the previous cruise ( heat lamps I presume) fresher frozen breaded oysters at the buffet Rip-off Steak house 38.00 up charge canned oysters with dry ice smoke and some kind of tasteless foam (Nasty) risotto was worse Total Rip-off The GOOD, Carnival Quest activity was a blast! Room was Great, Service Great, Entertainment Great Met super people on the cruise Drinks cost 10-12 dollars but they are truly 10 dollar drinks, no complaints. I do not drink every day so the drink package was not for me. 60.00 per day requires you to drink 15 drinks a day everyday to benefit (no rollovers) But I guess if you are drunk all the time you won't eat or notice the food Canned peaches were good, Breads and desserts were excellent I traveled alone so, 300.00 a day should get food as good as Dennis, Appleby’s, Taco bell or McDonalds Maybe my expectations are a tad high After getting sick I ate one or two things at the buffet if I ate at all Do not think I will cruise again waiting for ports to get a meal
