Review summary

My husband and I ( early 50s) and our son and his girlfriend were on the May 7, 2016 Magic cruise out of Port Canaveral. We had an aft extended balcony and our son and his gf had a regular balcony.  The rooms were clean, bright and the air conditioning worked just fine. Our room steward, Ernesto was awesome and ensured we had ice twice a day.

The cons: The photo gallery was a hot mess. Impossible to find our anytime dining pictures or port pictures. Too crowded, confused and generally unpleasant. We did not purchase a single picture.

The Lido deck lines for omelettes at breakfast and Mongolian Wok at lunch were crazy! We ended up just eating other stuff because the lines were so long.

We never got Pig N Anchor BBQ because it is only on Sea Days and only for a short time and people were lining up 30 minutes before they opened in the hot blazing sun to get it. We never tried that either.

The Casino was so smoky that it took your breath away to just walk through it. And there was some kind of slot tournament all week which caused even more smoking and crowding.

The Comedy Club continues to be one of the most popular activities in the evening. If you want to go, beware you have to get there really early in order to get a seat. We got seats once and never again.

The Pros:

The staff was uniformly wonderful.  The Steakhouse was superb as was the Cucina La Capitano.  The MDR was adequate. The wait staff in Anytime Dining, specifically Aquino, were awesome but the food was nothing to write home about. We ate 2 nights at the Steakhouse, 1 night at the Cucina, 1 night at the buffet and the other nights at the MDR.

Roatan, Honduras was the most pleasant surprise of all. We got in to port, took a chairlift to the beach and there is a separate "VIP" area that you pay for and you get nicer lounge chairs, a bed thing with curtains and, of course, bar service and food service (for a fee!). You also have a separate beach.  It was a perfect day.

We loved the aft extended balcony but beware you are FAR away from lots of the action! We're old and have decided going forward we would prefer to be midship.
