This was my 5th cruise and it was the worst that I have been on. Food was not great, staff not very friendly, and both cabins and common areas could use a renovation.

The food served in the main dining room tasted ok. Food was always cold. Buffet options were the same everyday. Towards the end of the cruise you could tell food being served were leftovers from previous days. Fruit was dry, breads were stale, and desserts looked old. They served random food or meats previously offered but they would disguise it with sauce to make it look as if it were a new dish.
Onboard Activities

Pools, comedy shows, bingo and movie nights. Pools were never too crowded and comedy shows were actually funny. Kids loved movie nights. Great opportunity to wind down but still do something fun.

Our waters were excellent. They took the time out to learn what everyone in our party liked and made suggestions based on our likes. They even took the time to cut the steaks into bite size pieces for the kids. Unfortunately personnel at buffets were not friendly and almost seemed bothered when guest asked for meats from the carving station.

Common areas were clean for the most part but things seemed worn out specifically the buffet area including tables and chairs.

Overall comfort was ok. Beds and pillows were very comfortable. Liked having the second restroom with tub. Was helpful when showering the kids.
Ship tip
Take advantage of the brunch offered on the main dining room. Food is fresher than the buffet.
Went on excursion to the all inclusive Tecno beach club. Food was limited to chips, nachos, refried beans, rice and cut up watermelon and pineapple. Alcoholic drinks were weak, soda was served in 8 oz cups from liter bottles, so you had to keep asking for refills frequently. Same with the beer. They would not give you an entire bottle. The beach area was small and very crowded. Not enough beach chairs. Staff in buffet area was rude but bartenders were friendly.
Nachi Cocum is one of the best breaches. Odd you didn't like the food. I thought it great and more than enough. Mixed drinks we're just as strong as anywhere else. Beer was served in the bottle. It wasn't crowded because they limit the number of guests on the beach. I noticed you didn't mention plenty of seating because of that. Or the nice pool area with hot tub. Or you never had to get your own food or drink, it was brought to you. We're going back.
My last cruise a reviewer said food was terrible. It was some of the best I've had. Galveston dirty? Have you never been to Galveston. It is what it is. Never seen Galveston any different. Cruise staff stand in line to work out of that port because we're friendlier. The worst cruise I've ever had was fantastic. You make your cruise not the staff.
I don’t think you are a very happy person. You seem to always see the glass as half empty. Feel sorry that you have to go through life with this attitude. Love the Dream and Carnival
