Review summary

Overall the cruise was a disappointment. We took this cruise as our honeymoon and paid significantly for an upgraded room (Jr. Suite with wrap around balcony) The room was nice, but the balcony was unusable because of a strong smell of sewage.

The bed was so bad that we had trouble moving after we woke up every day, to the point my wife's back even locked up on the last day and took hours for us to get moving and off the ship. We do not have back problems normally either, we are both military veterans that have slept in some horrible places that were still more comfortable than Carnivals bed.

Also, I paid for honeymoon decorations to be added to our room that were not even setup when we arrived. They appeared late in the day, kind of ruining the surprise. They were nice and cheesy, but they were fun and made the room a little nicer once they did arrive though.

The ship's food was disappointing overall. Guy's burgers was excellent, but caused me to spend an night in the bathroom half way through the cruise. Not sure if the burger was under cooked or what, but from people we talked to it i was not the only one in that situation throughout our trip.

The ship was also very expensive, beyond the reservation costs and things, it seemed like there was an up charge for everything on board. My wife and I both paid for the drink package, we are not big drinkers but we didn't want to worry about how much we spent on our honeymoon either, we wanted the fixed cost of the packages. It was crazy and annoying how much was not covered by the package. It was frustrating that simple drinks were not covered, and even a lot of their daily specials were not covered with a good number of their drinks just above the $10 max to be covered.

On the positive side, we loved Grand Cayman. We did the stingray city tour and rum point beach, it was a great time and would highly recommend it.

This was our first and last Carnival cruise. I do not know if we just got a bad ship or what, but it was extremely disappointing.

more disappointing than anything. Guy's Burgers was good, but main dining was bland and disappointing

Service and Staff

The crew often seemed bothered that we were there, dinner service was rude, bar tenders seemed angry every time we wanted a drink and so on. Our room attendants were great though!

Ship Quality

smelled horrible outside. Beds were horrible, Outside was so windy underway it was not enjoyable at any spot on board. The engine vibration was ridiculous. The hand rails on the stairwells were sticky and disgusting the entire week of the cruise, their cleaning supplies didn't clean even though we saw them trying.

Cabin / Stateroom

do not get this room. The bed is horrible. The balcony is nice, but the ship smells like raw sewage making it nauseating to go outside most of the time. The engine vibrates horribly too.

Ship tip

Do not get a room in the back of the ship. The engine vibrates so badly it shakes the entire back half of the ship, and not in a pleasant rocking you to sleep way either. Overall, very disappointed with the ship, I recommend finding a different ship and/or a different cruise line.
