A nice little city, every thing is walkable from the ship. We walked to the old town and spent a couple of hours in the museum the strolled back through the city looking at the shopes, church and and another couple of sites.

Historic city, friendly people. No excursion taken. Docked there on a holiday so probably not the best reflection of a typical day but quite nice and calm. Great views!

We were in the highly industrialised part of the port rather than the old one as you initially sail in. The ship docked opposite the oil refineries and a heavy petrol odour was present throughout our time there both on deck and in the cabin. It was so bad that we couldn't sit out on the balcony. There's not much in Aarhus apart from concrete and boarded up buildings plus lots of grafetti so I'd recommend booking an excursion. We visited Silkeborg where the Tollund Mam and Elling Woman are housed (60 mins on the coach) then had a 90 minute boat ride along the river and lakes on a paddlesteamer which was very scenic.

I believe this was one of two ports where the shuttle was $12 to town. In other ports, it was complimentary. Don't understand why the difference...especially since there was a sign that said free shuttle until the RC agent took it away. Tying up so far away in most of the ports was an inconvenience.
