The MSC Lirica is on fire

Thanks for sharing. It seems like the cruise industry can’t get a break. As the rest of you have said, glad to hear that no one was hurt!
Yes, thank God for that.
Curious, according to what I read it started in an empty lifeboat.
I hope this doesn't lead to a worldwide governmental suspension of cruising until it can be established as to what caused the fire, followed by a thorough study and approval of the industry's response plan, followed by test cruises and the issuance of a "Certificate to Sail".
I can already see the press release: "Lacking a determination of cause and an adequate response, we cannot risk subjecting the public to the unsafe practice of comingling on the high seas with structures that appear to have the ability to spontaneously combust".

Most definitely.

Fortunately no passengers on board and no one hurt ... do they know yet what actually caused it?
Most ships are in warm layup until they return to cruising.
The article stated the ship was in warm layup.
Glad nobody was hurt!
Here is a more detailed article
I'm glad nobody was injured and that the fire did not get into the ships interiors.
