Note to self

I will never book a cruise in September. To much to dodge weather wise.

Best game ever!!! Yummy

We’ve cruised in September many times and never encountered bad weather that I can remember. I’d rather be on a ship that can avoid a storm any day than stuck in the path of a storm on land.

We've cruised in September without running into hurricanes.

I avoid the word never, as soon as I use it the situation changes and I am doing whatever it is. Actually, September was a good time when we cruised in Alaska. We like to sail Oct. - Feb. time frame for the fewer children and getting out of CO during the snow reasons. We are unlikely to cruise during Spring break ever again or during the Summer. I prefer calm seas but "Mother Nature" doesn't know or care what I want, so.....

Hope things work out in the positive for you.

I turn the rough seas into a game -- How many drinks does it take to be able to walk a straight line?Big Smile

With the weather map linked, it really doesn't look like it should be too rough unless sailing on next Tuesday.

We always book in Sept/Oct and love it. Agreed, fewer children but water can be dicey.

It might make for an interesting ride for a day or two, but even if your cruise started on a Tuesday, with that prediction cone, it shouldn't be too difficult to stay out of trouble.

Agreed but when I sail out of Fla or the east coast you have this coming at you to screw up your first 3 days out of seven. You cant dodge it either. No way around it.

September is no worse than any other month. You may need to dodge a storm any time. Sure there be hurricane season from first of June to end on November where those storms need to be dodged but there are also nasty storms that come up in the winter frequently enough. Besides, dodging storms can be fun or an adventure. Like your on a ship man and at sea. If you get lucky the storm re-routes you into an extra 2 days at sea. How bad can that be.

Better prices, fewer children. I love the August/September cruises.
