Ship: Zaandam
Cabin Type: Suite
Traveled As: Family (older children)

Apathetic staff, constant marketing over PA system, ice cream at every meal...cheap food, service, demeanor. The average passenger was 80 plus. Nothing against the aged, but we were always inline behind wheelchairs and walkers. Not for anyone under 70... find anothercruise line.

Not the refined atmosphere we envisioned.

Food and Dining

Very little variety.

Entertainment

1 out of 5
Lawrence Welk style entertainment. For those too young to know who he is, it's entertainment fro the over 80 crowd!

Service and Staff

1 out of 5
They were over-worked and uncaring. One of the staff told me they worked for 11 months straight with no days off and as many as 13-14 hours per day.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5

Cabin / Stateroom

Pros: Nice rooms with excellent storage

Cons: Geriatric cruise - not for younger passengers, apathetic service

Recommends Zaandam? No.
