We have been trying to plan this trip for several years. I am glad we went in July so we could enjoy the cooler weather. For the most part, the Westerdam had an older crowd which worked out great for us because we fit right in!!!

We were a little rushed and somewhat exhausted at the time of Embarkation. We had just finished our land tour to Denali. We arrived after an 8 hour bus ride. The walk was short, the line moved quickly and there were no glitches.

The food was very good. We ate breakfast and lunch in the Lido and dinner every night in the main dining room. Food in the Lido was plentiful with a very good selection...main dishes, side dishes and desserts. The dining room had a very nice variety, it was prepared as ordered and was beautifully presented. Something different every night but there was also an "every day" menu with the standards.

Our room stewards were the absolute best. They knew what we needed before we knew what we needed. The waiters were inconspicuous yet met all of our expectations. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE spoke to us with a smile. Very pleasant on all decks.
Ship Quality

Our cabin was located in the middle of the ship and was convenient to everything. The ship was beautiful and clean with hand cleaner everywhere. The bathrooms had cloth towels and were stocked every time we used them, no matter which deck or what time of day or night.

Pack less and use the $49 laundry. We sent laundry out every evening and had it back by the following afternoon.
