Review summary

This is our 17th cruise and 2nd with Holland. We chose the Westerdam because of the itinerary which included Aruba, Curacao, and Bonaire. The islands didn't disappoint and we were very happy with the locations, just not so much with the Westerdam!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
The service in the main dining room was very slow and the food was lacking in variety. I ate french onion soup every evening due to the limited availability of appetizers as well as dessert. We almost always have Baked Alaska and creme Brulee on our cruises, but neither was offered.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Entertainment was top notch and very professional.

Cabin / Stateroom

1 out of 5
Our room was very hot when we first entered it and it was still very hot when we departed. Their solution was to bring us a fan on the 3rd night.

Pros: Length of trip enabled us to return to Ft Lauderdale the day after Christmas.

Cons: Trying to obtain a dinner reservation (we were told that reservations opened at 8am so that's when we called) proved to be futile.

Recommends Westerdam? Yes!
