Review summary

We were very impressed with the entire ship, however, there was less than adequate shopping options, and not enough poolside lounge chairs, especially on at-sea days. We've sailed on two other lines and found Holland America to be excellent in every manner.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The dining room food was good but not outstanding. Our servers were fine but they didn't seem to go above and beyond the normal call of duty. The buffet areas were always well-stocked and had a large variety of items from which to choose.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Typical ship entertainment.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The staff who tended to our suite was delightful. He knew our names after one day and always had a friendly word to share. Our dining staff was adequate.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Everything was pristine! Our ship had just been super-sanitized, so nothing was less than sterile! I really apprerciated having everything served to us as opposed to people reaching in and just taking food items, sometimes foregoing the utensils!

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our suite was perfection! We were mid-ship, so we felt very little if any motion. The decor was tasteful. We LOVED the laundry/dry cleaning services and used them everyday! Wouldn't cruise without them again.

Pros: The spacious size of our suite

Cons: Lack of poolside lounging; lack of onboard shopping options
