Review summary

This was a nice getaway, but it would've been better if the weather had cooperated! We had rough seas the last day and a half, and it was windy and cold most of the trip. However, cruising is what you make of it, and my friend had so much fun on her first cruise that she wants to go again, so I consider that a win. And I won the Bingo jackpot! Doesn't get much better than a free cruise!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
The new RCCL cruise terminal is outstanding!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The food in the MDR and Windjammer were not up to the expectations I have had previously. The food was pretty bland overall, especially the desserts.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
There wasn't much to do onboard that interested me. They had the usual trivia and "tasters" (aka sales pitches). The fitness center had a great 7 am stretch class that I enjoyed.

Center Ice Rink

5 out of 5

The ice rink is one of my favorite venues on RCCL! The shows are always great, even though Ice Odyssey wasn't the best.

Perfume Shop

1 out of 5

The smell of perfume was overpowering

Day Spa and Fitness Center

5 out of 5

Rebecca in the spa was great and not pushy with products

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Again, not up to what I've come to expect from RCCL. The entertainment on Freedom and Oasis class has spoiled me.

Library

2 out of 5

Only about 30 books, and half of those were in a foreign language.

Studio B

5 out of 5

We love the ice rink

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The service was the best I've had on all 4 RCCL cruises!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
This ship was very well maintained and smelled amazing! I know that's weird, but I've been on some ships where there is always a weird odor, but this was never the case on Voyager. She isn't showing her age!

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The cabin was small, but there was plenty of room for two to move around and lots of storage space. The virtual balcony was a little weird.

Ship tip

If you're used to bigger class ships, this one will feel a little tight, but overall she is sharing very gracefully. I would highly recommend it for a first time cruiser!

Ports of call

Cozumel, Mexico

4 out of 5
I've been here many times, and it almost always rains, which has nothing to do with the cruise. We booked an excursion through Viator again, but this one was not my favorite. I think I'll go back to doing all-inclusive beach days or just stay on the ship if the weather isn't nice. The port area shops are starting to look REALLY run down and not very nice. It could use a refresh.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Easiest debarkation I've ever had! We literally walked right off, scanned our faces, grabbed our luggage, and made it to the car in less than 10 minutes.

Thanks for sharing your cruise experience with us. Glad to hear about the virtual balcony, always wondered about it.

Sorry the weather didn't cooperate. You may have seen me say this before: our best cruising weather has always been during hurricane season and the worst has always been January
