Review summary

After the bridge collapse in Baltimore we weren't sure if we would sail or from where. RCL did a good job in quickly selecting Norfolk and providing either transportation for previous cruise or in detailing parking and other information for the April 4th cruise. The ship and crew were what we expected and the four ports visited gave us an option to get off the shop to either tour or walk around. The new terminal in Nassau if a vast improvement over the old one and provides some safe activities without going outside of the fences to the hawkers on the way to Bay Street.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
The switch from Baltimore to Norfolk was a logistical challange that RCL handled well considering the circumstances. The bussing of the previous cruise was still underway when we arrived. The long lines and wait time was primarily since everyone arrived earlier than instructed. The staff at Norfolk did well in tying to keep things moving.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The menus in the MDR were typical and included the standard usual's and nightly specials. The bartenders and waiters did a great job in providing our food and drink in both the MDR and theater.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Nothing special or problems.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The onboard orchestra was excellent in supporting the stage shows and guest entertainers usually with only an hour or two to rehearse with headliners.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our waitstaff in the MDR was excellent in providing quick service and remembering our drink preferences.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Great shape for an older vessel with no readily observable concerns.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Junior suite with tub and walk-in closet. Comfortable interior space and storage/drawers.

Ship tip

This is a smaller ship which is easier to traverse, but without many bells and whistless. Enjoy yourself and don't complain about the lack of activities..

Ports of call

Norfolk, Virginia

5 out of 5
Nice port in downtown Norfolk, lots to do and see. Many items of interest in walking distance. Docked next to the Battleship Wisconsin.

Port Canaveral, Florida

5 out of 5
Several interesting excursions or just walk around port for seafood restaurants.

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island

3 out of 5
Several excursions riding through areas still impacted by hurricanes or to beaches. The area around the port has some shops and Senior Frog.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Off ship, picked up luggage, thru customs in around 20 minutes. Hardest part was meeting rides or picking up your car.
