Review summary

Vision is like all in this class an amazing ship. But I dislike the Oasis class so I’m biased. Royal does need to get a clue on food and dining. The food was MUCH better than our Voyager cruise last year but Royal still needs to work on the specialty restaurants. All three on this ship were sub par with some items. Royal also needs to up its variety and availability of included food. Park Cafe and Cafe Lattetudes are really something of a joke at this point. All I could think of was how nice it was going to be getting better food more or less when I want on my upcoming Carnival cruise. But in the end still a great cruise I would take again. I’m excited to be on her sister Lady G to Greenland next year!

Cabin / Stateroom

I booked an inside on deck 8 because I heard this deck had larger inside cabins. Not the ones place bow to stern! Other than the sink counter and the under sink shelf, NO storage in the bathroom. That being said, there was tons of storage in the cabin overall. We probably only used half. It was just awkward getting anything or doing anything in this cabin. The oddly shaped shower was also a negative. Prepare to become intimately familiar with the shower curtain! The toilet placement meant sitting sideways on it due to the lack of legroom. Kept very clean and we found the bed to be comfortable but we’d never book this style of inside again.

Ship tip

Avoid inside cabins with a bow to stern direction. These are oddly shaped and difficult to maneuver in.

Warm, calm water. Delicious chicken sandwich and salads. Interesting sea life to be seen just standing in the shallow water. A great day overall.

Thanks for the review. We are booked on on B2B on the Vision for next March. Your bow-to-stern room sounds like some of those I’ve stayed in for the Grandeur. I’ll never forget those tall, but extremely shallow cabinets in the room’s closet - almost useless, lol.

Thanks for the info! I just got off Oasis and booked this one. I feel like the food situation wasn’t that good either.

Thank you for sharing your cruising experience. Believe several cruisers have had intimate encounters with the shower curtains.
