Review summary

Stateroom was hot when we arrived on board, had to wait at least 35mins for it to cool down. Ordered room service, it was a horrible hamburger, with cold cheese on top. When we arrived at the main dining room for our seating, the assigned table was full. We were sat at a 10 top table with no other guests. The food was mediocre at best, steak on menu was tough,  prime rib was better but grey in color. The wait staff seemed unprepared to assist in a sitting issue. After dinner we went to karoke for fun. Very few folks in attendance, they had a hard time setting up the karoke machine and the word screen was to the singers back if they were facing the crowd, awkward. The young lady bartender in the schooner lounge was the most hospitable person on the ship. Very nice and attentive. We had fun at the pool  the next day, however the bartenders at the pool bar need some sort of help with knowing who was next in line. I felt some hostility from them. Perhaps the Ultimate Beverage Package guests could have there own line? Or a # system.Wednesday night we decided to upgrade to Izumi, Asian restaurant. It is on the top of the ship, the ship was vibrating soooo very badly we were unable to stay and eat our food. We took the food to the cabin, it too was very shaky and unable to finish eating. It was quite the shame since,Noe, our waiter was so very nice and apologized profusely.

Had fun in Cozumel. Booked a tour through Safetours, had a private driver take us all around the island, with lots of stops, and ended in the tequila tour and Casa Mission  restaurant for lunch. It was worth the money. Found out on our tour that this was V of S 1st trip to Cozumel from Ft.Lauderdale. I would not recommend this ship on this itnerary. We spoke with a gentleman would was also supprised at the lack of attention and manners of the staff on this cruise. He had sailed many times, and commented this was the worst. He had also been on V of the Seas before in Alaska and had encountered the vibrations on that cruise. Only time he had a problem with that. Maybe the ship? Last night we went back to main dining and were accomadated with a small table, the food was much better and the staff was very attentive, after they remember us from the first night. Not the best of first impressions, I would perhaps try another Royal Carribean cruise on a larger ship. I felt the staff were inconvenienced by this leg of the cruise, they were going on from Ft.Lauderdale and had just returned from Panama.
