Lovely cruise and Great Value

Sail Date: October 07, 2011

Reviewed: 4 years ago

Traveled As: Singles/Friends

Room Type: Oceanview

The cabin was comfortable, the food was good (not great, but very good), the entertainment ranged from good to excellent, the dance music was excellent. Clearly, some corners were being cut; there were no toiletries in the bathroom, and no grand meals (but no one left hungry). I think onboard activities could have been better arranged, as some days there were too many competing activities, other days, the pickings were sparse.

Pros: Interesting ports of call

Cons: Haifa was not worth all the time spent there, unless you wanted to hit the beach.

Recommends Vision of the Seas? Yes!

Ship Quality
Carpets were being replaced while sailing, and some areas needed fresh paint. Overall, things were quite shipshape.
Food and Dining
Cabin / Stateroom
Bring your own lotion, shampoo and conditioner.
Service and Staff
Haifa, Israel
The beach looked wonderful and the B'Hai gardens were beautiful, but there weren't any other "wow" sights to see. Passengers should note that the city runs a free tour bus that stops very close to the port terminal.
Don't Miss: B'Hai Gardens or the beach.
Istanbul, Turkey
Wonderful things to see. Allow a few extra days before or after sailing.
Don't Miss: Topkapi Palace
Ashdod, Israel
The point of being in Jerusalem is the visit to the old city, with all the Biblical sites.
Don't Miss: Biblical sites in old Jerusalem.
Piraeus (Athens), Greece
The port is beautiful and the ancient sites of Athens are must-see places, however, the demonstrations and strikes made siteseeing problematical.
Kusadasi (Ephesus), Turkey
Ephesus is a must-do. The walk around the waterfront is also lovely.
Don't Miss: Ephesus
