Spain and Portugal are beautiful and the Douro Valley is gorgeous. Prepare for an immersion in wine and its production. Lots of walking on uneven surfaces but the pace of excursions is always reasonable. Bus rides are through lovely countryside. Guides are excellent. The ship, the staff and food are excellent.

We enjoyed it very much. Can’t say I would do extensions again, however. Expensive and if hotel is far from sites it gets too complicated.

You need to be in Good Health a lot of uneven surfaces and hills I would have liked one day on the ship to take it easy but there are excursions every day and I didn’t want to miss anything!

Portugal is a wonderful place to visit. People are friendly; and in July, the weather is spectacular. The only negative comment was the port stop (night stop only — ship’s aren’t allowed to be underway at night on the narrow river) in Pinhão.

Very relaxing, enjoyable, loved the excursions. Staff excellent, food and wine excellent.

I give an excellent to all personnell, facilities, activities on board and side trips.  Especially enjoyed Guamaires (? Sp), the medieval town and Pinhao.  Sure recommend Portugal as a destination.  The marine museum in Lisbon is over and above others I have seen in the world.  

Not as much to see on this river but will definitely be doing another Viking cruise

This is our 4th Viking Riverboat Cruise, and this one did not disappoint us!  Portugal is a beautiful country!  Put on some comfy walking shoes and go w/ the flow!
