Review summary

Smooth and professional all the way around. Decent included excursions.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We came from a pre-cruise extension, and it was straight onto the ship. The staterooms were ready at 1:30pm.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Of a high standard, but not gourmet. Noon buffet not as varied as on some other lines. One disappointment was no avocados. Specialty dining is included, with reservation numbers dependent on cabin category. We liked Manfredi’s better than the Chef’s Table.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Decent considering the size of the troupe. The cruise director also gets involved.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
One could get the impression that these people really like working for Viking.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Star is the oldest in the fleet, but still looks new.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Comfortable. Nice bedding. Great bathroom. Negative points: The balcony door is too difficult to open, and the usability of the wardrobe is diminished by the nightstand being in the way.

Ship tip

Don’t miss the spa thermal suite offerings.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Very organized and punctual. Really a lot of “hand-holding” that might be over the top for some guests.
