Review summary

Basically very relaxing. There was plenty do do onboard. My excursions met my expectations. Passengers were open to learning more about Cuba. Experts presented in depth knowledge of ports and history.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Our pier for embarkation was changed the night before sailing. We felt Viking should have told passengers who were arriving independently.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Main dining room was excellent. They had nightly features and a dishes that were always on the the menu. Specialty restaurants and buffets were spotty. Some of the food was excellent, some just average.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
The spa had excellent selection and excellent aestheticians. There was a free spa area that didn’t find out about until my masseuse told me the last day of the cruise. I would have spent time at the pool if there had been more seats.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Generally very entertaining.

Children's Programs

No children on board

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Room steward was excellent. Housekeeping kept my room very clean. Drink service in pool area could have been more attentive.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship was very clean and staff encouraged guests to wash or sanitize their hands.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
I wasn’t in the room very often. As a single, being in a small room was not a problem. Outdoor restaurant above had noisy times when chairs were being moved around. Bed was lumpy.

Ship tip

Check out the spa area where you can enjoy a salt water hot tub, sauna, ice room, relaxation.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida Did not visit port

I live in Florida.

CIENFUEGOS, CUBA

5 out of 5
I took the included Cienfuegos tour. It was excellent. I also took the $299 trip to Havana. The bus was nice. The tour guide was knowledgeable and open in his comments. The trip was very rushed. Very little time to explore independently. We had a surprise ride in vintage American cars. After 12 hours, all arrived back to the ship exhausted.

SANTIAGO DE CUBA, CUBA Did not visit port

Port stop was cancelled due to wind. I’m sorry we could not see it.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Everything went as scheduled. Customs cleared us quickly. Passenger pick up areas clearly marked
