Review summary

The tour guides were excellent, especially Michael for the Munich and Salzburg pre-cruise excursions. Sadness in Budapest at the fatal collision (not involving our ship). I know Viking is more distressed than we are and we encourage Viking to pursue opportunities to make the river safer in Budapest.

With a high Danube, Viking was still able to meet all timelines and excursions, even though they had to dock downstream from Passau.

Not a lot of activities on board and that's the way we like it. Low-key lounge.

Entertainment

The few entertainment options that were presented were excellent. We weren't on this cruise for ship-board entertainment.

Service and Staff

As always, cheerful, helpful crew. We're in the service industries ourselves and know this is not by accident. Attitude at the top is reflected in the workers, and it is obvious Viking not only is careful to choose the right people, but also insists their "top brass" reflects a cheerful, helpful attitude.
