Review summary

Overall I would have to say that we enjoyed our travel upon the Viking Eir as it's a relaxing and slower paced 'cruise' than any we have been on to date. Give Kudos to the entire crew of the EIR as they are very efficient and well trained and attentive to your every need. One suggestion is to upgrade your bed and pillows as ours were not all that comfortable.

From Valetin (outstanding) to Marlon and Alviria in the restaurant to MJ & Lazlo at the bar to Toma our cabin steward to Rene' and on up to the Captain of the ship we could not be more praise worthy to Viking for excellent care during our trip.

Ship tip

Pack light and take advantage of the ships laundry as they do an excellent service and it's not all that expensive leaving you the ability to pack a lighter suitcase for traveling.

Enjoyed Amsertdam and spent a extra day on the front end exploring this unique and interesting city that is so open and friendly.

Kinderdijk, Netherlands

Interesting to see and as they say, been there done that.

Cologne, Germany

Not what I was expecting. Just another large European City with little to capture the memories.

Speyer, Germany

Totally uninteresting and obviously a city with a large invasion of foreign elements that have taken it's toll on this small city which could have at one time been an interesting stop.

Strasbourg, France

Another slightly disappointing town from the aspect of what we were expecting. It's simply a large city with lots of shops but little interesting characteristics to make it stand apart.

Breisach Am Rhine, Germany

4 out of 5
Interesting town split between two countries.

Basel, Switzerland

Now we can say we have been to Switzerland. Did enjoy our visit to the Audie Murphy museum and the Black Forest. Unique places with plenty of history to both.

Disembarkation

Smooth and effortless.
