Viking Aegir

14 Night Grand European Tour Eastbound (Amsterdam To Budapest)

Sail date: August 10, 2022

Ship: Viking Aegir

Traveled as: Couple

Reviewed: 2 years ago

Review summary

We were notified a few days before the cruise that due to Rhine water levels we would be in hotels and on busses the first 3 nights. We then got on a ship but had to transfer to another after Koblenz. For a company that states it knows how to do this it was poorly planned and executed. The crew of the Embla was great. The Aegir with its invisible Captain was not up to Viking standards.

Embarkation

2 out of 5
First 3 nights in hotels. Paid the extra for a suite but was given standard hotel rooms. Overall process of starting the cruise on land due to low water was poorly handled. Thrown together with little support for the staff.
