Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The food in the buffet has improved tremendously. Plenty of different dishes and desserts to choose from and the food was hot. We ate all our meals in it from day 3 onwards. Menu in MDR very repetitive and portion sizes extremely small. Service was slow. 2.5 hours for 3 courses from start to finish. Lack of staff didn't help. Beach House and the Glass House. Food quality and portion size, excellent as always.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Plenty of different activities available to suit all ages.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Various shows and live music aimed at the older generation though.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
A child woudn't have been bored on this cruise. Plenty to do from toddlers to teens.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Staff were very friendly and helpful but overworked.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Ship is easy to navigate but old and tired in appearance & facilities compared to Iona and Arvia. Staff kept it clean but rust was visible in many areas.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Cabin was clean but jaded. The carpets/ walls were grubby and there was mould in the bottom of the shower tray. The toilet flush repeatedly stopped working but was fixed within 15 mins of being reported.

Ports of call

St. Peter Port, Guernsey, Channel Islands

3 out of 5
St Peter Port doesn't seem to have recovered from the pandemic. Lots of closed/boarded up shops and those still open were expensive. It lacked character and was quite grotty in places. Visited x3 in the last 2 years and it shows no signs of improvement. Le Petit Train is now £40 per person for a 2 hour trip.

Leixoes, Portugal

5 out of 5
Turn left out of the cruise port and you'll discover cheap and cheerful fish restaurants. A glass of white wine was €1.50. Go right and you'll find a beautiful sandy beach.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Easy to self disembark, off the ship at 6.15 am and home by 9.30 am.
