Ventura was a happy boat, we could hear the sailaway’s from our balcony and the band singing were great !!! As were the crowd ! Sweet Caroline ! Ventura was a lovely ship, Unfortunately hubby was poorly ( nothing to do with the ship and defo not covid as we tested) so we didn’t visit a couple of ports or use some of the facilities but we would happily sail on her again !
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Arrived just after 1pm left the car then dropped baggage off and went to the terminal. Had vaccination certificates, insurance’s and passports checked. Boarding passes stamped then hand luggage through security and we were on our way to the ship ! Well organised and friendly shoreside crew - thank you :-)
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
We mainly used the Buffet as suits us best , we go late to breakfast, used the pizza place for lunch and then go to the buffet later for dinner. Not keen on the MDR on any ship as we prefer to be casual!
Have to say the lunchtime buffet seemed poor compared to other ships we have been on.

Service and Staff

Have to say they work incredibly hard. Always said hello, and we felt the overall vibe on Ventura was that of a happy ship! Everyone smiled and went out of their way to be friendly and go out of their way. Special thanks to the Laguna and the Beachcomber bar staff ! Thanks for the endless No-Ladas’s !
Ship Quality

Yes the ship was always being cleaned and staff did an awesome job clearing tables on deck so they could be used. Common areas were always tidy and loved the layout of the ship. Reminded us of Explorer & Navigator of the seas, easy to get around and loved the aft decks
Cabin / Stateroom

Loved the layout- we were so happy to have proper storage space especially having travelled on Iona in April ( so tight on storage space) on Ventura you had a walk in area next to the bathroom so could hang everything up plus there was room to leave the suitcases there also.
Cabin seemed spacious and well laid out.
Only minus was the T.V was tiny and you couldn’t read the headlines, they really need to be upgraded. Especially as one of us was ill so we spent a lot of time in the cabin !
Ship tip
Explore straight away, find out where everything is and then settle in to your cabin ! It’s easier to explore early with less people onboard !
Thanks for sharing your experiences. We will be on the Ventura for the first time in January. Only done one 7 day cruise six years ago on the Azura to the Fjords and we absolutely loved it. Really looking forward to this 28 day cruise to the Caribbean.
