Review summary

This was a fantastic vacation! Loved our ports, the people we met and the time we spent together. I think the smaller ship was a perfect pairing with the itinerary and the staff and crew were warm and attentive. Well done Holland America!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
This was a breeze! We walked from our hotel, dropped our bags off outside and walked right in. Filled out customs forms, waited in line to get our sign & sail card set up (15-20 min. I think), went through security and walked on board. Total time less than 30 minutes. Easiest embarkation process! (Another reason to love Montreal)

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
I am a very picky eater. I enjoyed all the food and found a large variety for me to choose from. Loved the happy hours in the Crows Nest. Wish I had known about the martini bar sampling earlier so only made one, but it was delish! The bartender was fun kept everyone evolved!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We enjoy trivia and they had two trivia’s each day!

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The comedian was a riot! The singers and dancers were just ok. I enjoyed the crew show.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
I felt comfortable, never awkward or like I was imposing because everyone made me feel welcomed! I loved that they took the time to learn my name and favorite drink 🙂.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Sure, it’s an older ship, but they kept up with the maintance and it was always clean!

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
One thing I love about Holland America is their rooms. I can have the same amount of room in an inside cabin as one with a view. I love that I get a small sofa and chair in the room. Perfect size for two.

Ship tip

Get to trivia early 🙂 and check out the martini bar sampling (probably should get there early too)

Disembarkation

Super easy. Put our bags out the night before, in the morning ate breakfast and waited for our numbers to be called. Walked off, found our bags and jumped in a taxi to take us to the car rental. From the time our numbers were called to getting in the taxi was about 15-20min. Easy and stress free.
