Overall a fun cruise, staff on ship was amazing, staff off ship (at customs) not so much. The port was fun and geared towards kids and people who party. I prefer Half moon Cay (a little more quiet and low key with great snorkeling) We brought snorkel masks but there really wasn’t anywhere good to snorkel. Anything extra on the island (excursions, water park, private beaches, cabanas) was really overpriced. The cruise, while it had a lot for kids, altogether wasn’t geared towards kids because many of the shows weren’t appropriate for kids and the music being played over the loud speaker was inappropriate

If I could rate it a zero I would. The customs lady had a chip on her shoulder and would not let 2 members of our party board the ship because they had a mothers copy birth certificate. I was livid. No refund, no credit for further cruise. They camped at the port for 3 days while the rest of the family took the cruise. It ruined our first day and because of her and this racist policy, I won’t be traveling Royal Caribbean anymore.

Food was great! Our service at dinner was superb.
Onboard Activities

The Utopia of the seas had it all. The shows were incredible, although I will say one show we saw was borderline strip club. It was a little uncomfortable for everyone in my party. The slide that goes from the 16th floor to the 6th was my kids favorite. The playground was fun and had an area for adults to sit while the kids played. The kids program was fun. The pools and pool chairs were a little crowded. The music by the pool was sometimes distasteful with all the kids present. “Lick my neck, my back, my p***y, and my crack” I mean….really? The line for the surf rider was long and went slow so we didn’t do that. The workout room had everything you need for a workout and offered classes. The “free samples” at the spa were a waste of time and they just tried to sell you something.

Mostly great music and performances. One show was borderline strip club and not stated “adults only “ Thankfully I suspected this and didn’t take the kids but the adults were still uncomfortable so we left. The water show was amazing! The ice skating was okay. The game shows were fun. The live music was good. The poolside music was sometimes questionable. “Lick My neck, my back, my pu**y, and my crack” over the children’s water park was a little disturbing.

Ship tip
Bring a hospital copy of birth certificate if you’re American especially. Customs lady is a racist and won’t let you on unless you’re one of her own people
Racist woman at customs wouldn’t let 2 of our family members on while we watched her let others in without their green cards in hand, they were “being expedited “
Customs requires certain documents which are all included in your cruise contract. Sorry that you went through that negative experience. Inappropriate music playing in the children’s area… hmmm… not sure I buy Khia blasting in the splash pad.
Mother’s copy? I’m not 100% what that is but guessing it isn’t official. You have to have a certified copy if you are t going to use a passport (which is best). So if port authority wouldn’t let people board because they didn’t have proper documentation it is then doing their job. People need to make sued they know what they need. A refund? What for? People need to do their research on proper documentation. That isn’t the cruise lines fault.
