Utopia of the Seas

4 Night Bahamas & Perfect Day (Port Canaveral Roundtrip)

Sail date: October 28, 2024

Ship: Utopia of the Seas

Review summary

I loved doing a cruise for Halloween! Yeah it was a change from Bahamas to Labadee but I love sea days so for sure a win. If you’re looking for a more vibrant version of Wonder of the Seas, I’d deff book Utopia, you won’t be disappointed, but do bring a fan, the rooms seem to get hot for some reason.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
I think Royal is still experimenting how best to communicate express check during boarding, they had the signage up at the end of the line but not the start and so a few including myself missed it until I guess they realized some were getting missed and moved it ahead, but eitherway, still less than 15 min from door to ship.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Overall the food was good quality, I’ve had some misses before on other ships, but not this time.

Pesky Parrot

5 out of 5

Don’t let that parrot fool you into thinking you don’t have to worry about your credit card statement for 2-3 weeks, get the drink package lol the new drinks are amazing and the decor is gorgeous. The schooner bar was always my go to spot, not on Utopia, it’s the Pesky Parrot now.

Izumi Hibachi & Sushi

5 out of 5

Izumi has always been amazing on every ship I’ve been on, but the new location in Central Park really just brings it to a new level, better accommodating for larger crowds since it’s become so popular over the years.

Giovanni’s Italian Kitchen and Wine Bar

5 out of 5

Oh man…if I could give this a sixth star I would, by far absolutely amazing food. Very flavorful and in a beautiful venue setting. I loved it so much even though I only had it one night, I reserved the next night as I walked out of the restaurant lol

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
This cruise was so challenging with a major itinerary change from Bahamas with perfect day to 2 sea days and one stop at Labadee, what’s more, when we hit storms at Labadee, everyone came back on board around lunch time. The crew wasted no time getting the MDR open for lunch and other places to take the strain off the windjammer, it was definitely a proactive move to adapt well. The crew on Utopia are super helpful and go above and beyond to accommodate your needs.

Did you find the cabin facing the inner courtyard to be noisy?
