Fun and relaxing itinerary. The... by stknkc

Sail date: /
Ship: Star Princess

Fun and relaxing itinerary. The untraditional stops in La Paz and Loreto were great. Dining staff in Club Class were the best we ever had in a cruise. All other staff was great. We seen the Captain making inspection rounds twice a day.

Love This Itinerary by taznremmy

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Star Princess / Destination: Mexico

I love to cruise. Sometimes, the ship is the destination. I love this itinerary because of the port Loreto, which is still quaint. No Diamond's Int'l., no pushy sellers, great food and a beautiful old church. The town goes out of it's way to help you enjoy your day.

Star Princess 15 Day Cruise to Hawaii by billyforJesus

Acceptable, but did not meet expectations. The ship was old and did not compare with other ships. The staff were excellent!

Hawaii dec 2019 by shananbobanan

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Star Princess

This was a good cruise. Generally the staff were helpful and pleasant. I have issues with relaxing (always feel guilty) and the 9 sea days made it more acceptable to my wacky personality to just get some down time. I think port days should be extended to a later departure time. The Honolulu day was kind of fun too as much of the crew was allowed to go to shore and there was a very celebratory atmosphere that day. Our room steward Joseph was fabulous.

The worst cruise I have ever taken. by evangelinegross

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Star Princess / Destination: Hawaii

We have decided to never take another cruise without doing more “ homework” . The average age of the ship passengers was too old...not enough activities for active people. Not enough time spent on each island. The only plus we can think of is one of the bar stewards...Josan Abraham. He made us feel welcome and comfortable. The costs on board ship were”pricy”. After paying for a cruise, paying for water and other drinks exorbitant!

Hawaii Sailaway by SGHasman

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Star Princess / Destination: Hawaii

Old ship. Bed and pillows very comfortable. Had two theater’s for Entertainment. ment. One theater had many steps, making it very hard for people with limited mobility. The smaller theater seating was limited for good visibility.

Cruise did not live up to expectations by WhodatRalph

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Star Princess / Destination: Hawaii

This cruise is geared for an older crowd. And by older I mean people probably over 70 (and I am 59). There were a lot of scooters, wheelchairs, and people with canes. Not that I have a problem with people that need to use them (however seeing a scooter pulling a woman in a wheelchair who was holding onto the scooter with a cane was a bit much) but they had a tendency to leave them in walkways while doing other things. We tried to go see a show in the Vista lounge one night and had someone in a scooter tell us we could not sit in front of him in case he needed to get out quickly. However where he was at it would be impossible to get out quickly. When you see activities like Knitter and Natters and Ballroom dancing you know who the target audience is. Even the elevators are designed for them. They were slow and the doors opened and closed very slowly. We did not let that deter us from enjoying the cruise. The sea days were nice and relaxing (although the first two days it was cooler than I expected). However the shows were only okay and the food was underwhelming. The comedians (we saw the magician and the ventriloquist) were okay (even the ventriloquist made a comment about the ago of the cruisers saying it looked like a Walmart greeters convention) but not very funny. Nothing special about the dining room and the burgers and hot dogs at the Trident Grill were of low quality (similar to McDonalds or the roller hot dogs you can get at a gas stations). The ship needs more alternate dining locations. In Hawaii the ship stops in commercial ports so there really is nothing near the ship to do. Lahaina was the exception to this (you did have to tender in though). Not too impressed with our excursion out of Hilo (might not have picked a good excursion though) but part of the excursion included a barbecue lunch. They ran out of food at this. For the amount of money charged you would not expect this. Our excursion on Kauai was cancelled but the ones on Oahu met our expectations. Our cabin was a mini suite so it was a good size and had plenty of storage space. The room steward did a good job of cleaning our room (even though we try to keep in clean anyway) and getting us towels on days we did not need our room clean. There was a problem on our deck (Dolphin) of water leaking from the ceiling in the aisle that was never fixed (even though they were trying the entire cruise). The carpet was getting so wet they had blowers out almost the entire cruise and there was a mildew smell (meaning this is not a new problem).

3 day relocation weekend cruise by Orion4077

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Star Princess

Short and simple weekend relocation cruise. The Star is an older ship and should be understood before boarding. The staff were amazing! My wife an I cruised on the Royal princess in June and one of the bar servers had transferred to the ship we were vacationing on 4 months later remembered my wife and I, she already knew our drink preferences and we had lots of fun reconnecting with someone we had formed a relationship with preciously, it made our cruise feel 150% more personal.

Fantastic cruise to Hawaii by cruisegirl67

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Star Princess / Destination: Hawaii

Always a great cruise. I love the 5 sea days there and back and activities and entertainment were all exceptional. Cruise Director Gary Holding was the best in my 24 cruises. He had ne crying with laughter as well as DJ Lovely. All cruise staff and crew are exceptional. Keep up the great work Princess.

Disappointing!! by Jovey

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Star Princess / Destination: Hawaii

Poor customer service from corporate Princess Captain's Circle Members. Not willing to make our cruise a memorable one on our anniversary. Cruise was ruined before we even boarded the ship. Star Princess is a old ship that is showing signs of age and little if any maintenance in regards to worn broken furniture, loose safety rails on tenders, moldy smell in bathroom due to years of tub/shower caulking over and over, missing electrical cover plates, water leak damage stains, decorative plates that cover on/off water sensors missing and not replaced, the list is endless.
