Review summary

An excellent cruise. I thoroughly recommend it for anyone looking for something different. The ports we visited were very interesting.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation was quick and quite smooth.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
After a small hiccup on the first two days was sorted, we were able to eat in the main dining room, which my wife and I received great service. We also ate in the Silver Dining and again received great service.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
The sky pad was only activity we did. I would have preferred it to last longer, although it was worth the small amount of money we paid.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
All shows were spectacular. Although I thought the technology could have been used a lot more for Silk Road. Hi

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
All of the staff were wonderful, helpful and friendly. Most were happy to engage in conversation with you.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Everything was very accessible. The ship was kept quite clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Mostly happy with this room, except for the wind hitting the balcony divider which was quite noisy when the sliding door was open.

Ship tip

Don’t cruise with any expectations, as things happen that are out of your control.

Ports of call

Hong Kong

5 out of 5
Prior to cruising we stayed overnight in Kowloon and went to the Temple Street markets. We stayed an extra two nights on Hong Kong Island. We mostly did our own things.

Okinawa

5 out of 5
We were happy we chose to do the ship’s shore excursion to Okinawa World and Cave, as the line up for the shuttle bus was huge.

ILOCOS (SALOMAGUE), PHILIPPINES

5 out of 5
We did a private tour here. Had such a wonderful day at this new venue.

Subic Bay, Philippines

5 out of 5
My wife and I walked from the ship to the city which was close by and did our own thing. Had such a good day experiencing the culture.

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
Getting off the ship was fine until we wanted to catch transport. This was very disorganised. Happy we booked Uber.
