Review summary

This was my wife and I's first cruise, and we were VERY impressed! This ship itself is a little dated since it was built in the late 1980's, but they still had all the amenities and fun activities we could ask for! Great pools, rock climbing wall, awesome bars and lounges, great dining areas...we just loved it! The staff was incredible and very helpful. The entertainment was fantastic and the ship activities were a blast! It was a fun time from start to finish!!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The quality of all the food we ate on ship was excellent. There is so much variety and food is present at every turn. Additionally, the presentation of the food was awesome. The culinary experience on Sovereign of the Seas was over-the-top!

Entertainment

5 out of 5
This was probably my favorite part of the ship. There was so much variety and so many great things to do, that my wife and I found it very tough narrowing down which activities we wanted to do! The shows were filled with many talented singers and dancers, the comedian they had on board was hilarious, the group games we played (Love & Marriage/Quest) were very creative and entertaining, the dance instructors were patient and very fun, the pool parties were incredible...I can't say enough about how much fun it was to be on board this ship!!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
It was clear to see that the staff on Soveriegn of the Seas are very passionate abou the ship and their roles in satisfying guests. They went above and beyond to make certain everything was absolutely perfect for the guests. Literally every encounter with the staff on this ship was a pleasant one!

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The ship is a little old (built in the late 1980's), but is very clean and nice. Some would consider the decor in certain areas a little outdated...but anyone could clearly see it is very well-maintained and clean. It seems they have remodeled certain areas of the ship, which are very up-to-date.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Staterooms were a little small...but I hear this is the case on every ship. The bed was very comfortable and the room was very clean. The decor was a little out-dated, but everything was very well maintained. The shower was very small. To be honest, there was so much action and fun happening on the ship, that I did not spend much time at all in my stateroom!

Ports of call

Cococay (Cruise Line's Private Island)

5 out of 5
The island was very relaxing. We didn't do any excursions, but had a great time on the beach chairs, in the hammocks, playings sand volleyball, eating, etc. It was very attractive and relaxing.

Pros: Food & Entertainment

Cons: Stateroom Sizes
