Review summary

I have been on a Royal Carribean cruise before where we visited France, Italy, and Spain. We loved it! Because we liked it so much, we thought it would be nice to have a weekend getaway and the cruise was very reasonably priced. Having said that, we did not enjoy our cruise as much this time. It left on a Friday and returned Monday, which means you have Sat. and Sunday in the Bahamas. Due to the weather, we were not able to dock on Sunday - so we were unexpectantly stuck on the boat all day. That was very disappointing since we had booked our excursions for Sunday. Although, we got a refund, I wish I was able to snorkle and scuba dive in the Bahamas! Also, the food this time was just ok. Due to the weather, the boat was very rocky this time. Overall, we did not enjoy this cruise as much as liked our first one. We thought this was too short of a cruise. We would have rather spent a little more to fly directly to Bahamas and have more time there. I think if we were to go on a cruise again, it would have to be a week long, where you get to see alot and the cruise is more of a hotel for you. I felt like the day at sea was very boring. However, I would probably cruise again with Royal Carribean. I suggest if you want to go on this cruise, be sure the weather is warm like April-September. March was a bit cold and not as enjoyable as we had hoped. Overall, I was disappointed in the trip because although we made the best of it, we traveled all the way from Cali to spend 2 days in the Bahamas and only got to see it for 1 day!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
I thought this time the food was just ok. On our European cruise with Royal Carribean, the food was great! Also, the servers kept getting our dinner orders wrong. What alot of people that go on a cruise for the first time, is that you can order and eat as much as you want! so be careful!

Entertainment

3 out of 5
I thought the entertainment was ok. They had 2 comedians, which were funny and a love and marriage game show. I didn't enjoy bingo, because it was expensive and only 1 game. Don't bother because your chances of winning are very slim. Having the casino on the boat helped entertain us for some time. The pool wasn't very useful since it was cool weather in March.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
I thought the staff was good. The excursions desk was very nice and helpful.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The ship was older, but the rooms were very clean. The public areas were also very clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
I thought the rooms were average. We had a small window, which was nice because when you don't have a window, you never know what time of the day it is - which also makes it harder to wake up in the morning! I do like that they make animals out of towels and have them waiting for you when you get to your room!

Ports of call

Nassau, Bahamas

Must see - go to Atlantis, walk around and there is a public beach right next door. The water was very blue and the sand was so soft!! We also ended up walking over the bridge from Atlantis to the boat, which was a nice walk and a great view. If you want to do shopping, be sure to go early - when we were walking back around 6 - almost all of the shops and restaurants were closed. The only bar still open was Senor Frogs. A must have souvenir is the chocolate rum cake! You can buy it in the little market (area right by where you buy tickets to go to Atlantis/Paradise Island) - near the dock. I brought back the small cakes and everyone loved them! I wish i would have bought more! I just wish we could have seen Cococay too - otherwise we would have went snorkeling and scuba diving here!
Don't Miss: laying on the beach and drinking a cocktail! there are people on the beach selling drinks - all you can drink for the day for $40.

Pros: the casino, the staff was very friendly, always something to eat

Cons: it rained so we didnt get to dock one day out of the 3 night, 2 day cruise
