Review summary

The Sovereign of the Seas was a quick getaway to Nassau and Coco Cay. The crew did a wonderful job at entertaining and serving us. It is Sovereign's last year with the line and the staff did an excellent job to make sure that it ends on a highnote. This is my fourth cruise and the staff, whom I encountered, were the friendliest of all. The food was very good, but not outstanding. Check in was a little troublesome, but the departure process was quick and smooth - a little later than expected, but the lines went fast.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Food was good. Steaks in the formail dining room were ok, but the specials were delicious.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The shows were good by the ship staff, but the comedian was just ok. There was a lot to do in a short amount of time.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The staff was extremely friendly and had very positive dispositions.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Being 20 years old, the Sovereign still looked good. No smoking in a number of areas was a plus - at least for one of us.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Room was smaller, but since we spent most of our time away from the cabin, it didn't matter too much.

Ports of call

Nassau, Bahamas

3 out of 5
Did the Discover Atlantis excursion and had a great time. You do get your legs workout when doing this tour, but it is worth it.

Pros: Quick getaway, the price at the last minute, the staff

Cons: Smaller cabin
