Our cruise was of the Adriatic coast, beginning in Athens and finishing in Venice. It was a beautiful cruise with lovely ports. Only comment was not enough sea days! Only one sea day in eleven days, is not really enough. It made the voyage seem very busy.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Reasonably quick and easy despite a worldwide Microsoft glitch. Cabin available immediately and suitcases arrived soon after.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Wonderful food and service from all venues. We dined at every venue that did not require an extra fee. Tip - prebook those restaurants that require reservations, well in advance of boarding.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Our itinerary was very full, so we had limited time to enjoy activities. The pool was nice, but lacks shade. Bingo and trivia was held every afternoon. The casino is very small. The boutique (2 stores) was open most days.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
Stage shows were great, musicians outstanding. Singers and dancers also excellent. Commenting that shows were only once per day and late at 10pm. Only one pool party with dancing during the voyage.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
All staff were welcoming, friendly, efficient and the service was excellent.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Lovely ship, brand new. Spacious and with nice decor.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Loved the cabin - beautiful spacious marble bathroom with large shower and glass door. Large vanity sink with 2 taps. Fabulous layout and lots of storage.
The cabin was spacious, very comfortable bed, walk in wardrobe, large TV able to be angled for viewing. Fridge, ample electrical outlets and good sized balcony.
Ship tip
One issue we encountered was the refusal to open adjoining balconies. We often travel with friends and always book cabins next to each other so we can open up our balconies. An unknown safety risk was the reason for denying us and this has never occurred on other lines. Another point, Silverseas does not use an app, and the daily chronicle is posted onto your TV, rather than a paper newsletter left at your door. I found the communication by this mode to be somewhat cumbersome.
This voyage was 11 days, with only one sea day. It could have really added another one or two days at sea to make it more relaxing.
Ports visited - Athens, Santorini, Corfu, Kotor, Bari, Dubrovnik, Split, Hvar, Zadar, Trieste, Venice. All ports were excellent and excursions included via the ship were very good.
Glad you had a good trip. We prefer a trip with few sea days. We like exploring the sites instead of hanging out on the ship. I understand that some people prefer to relax on the ship.
