Review summary

It's interesting how one negative experience can overweight all of the positive and wonderful experiences. We wanted to kayak. I was given a defective dry suit (it was missing a part). I then tried to go to the location in which the suits were located, but no one was there, and it delayed to departure of everyone else (who were given proper dry suits). My wife tried to tell the expedition leader the problem; his response was to berate her and to tell her that she and I were delaying everyone else. He was completely unsympathetic and unhelpful. Another expedition member came to me, got me a proper dry suit, and helped me get onto the Zodiac.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
The hotel in Punta Arenas had very pleasant and helpful staff, but accommodations were about 2 star. Food was sufficient for the first half of the group; second half was promised that food would be replenished after the first half polished off most of the food, but there was no replenishment, at least for an hour, before we left. Santiago hotel was excellent.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Excellent.

Onboard Activities

Entertainment

2 out of 5
The musician who performed before each lecture was so loud no one could hear anything until he left. He was obviously very proud of his musicianship and singing. I told the entertainment director that he was playing too loud for the group, and she said she'd talk to him. Nothing changed.

Children's Programs

I am unaware of any children on board.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Head butler 10+ out of ten. Head chef 10+ out of 10. They tried everything they could think of to appease my wife and her food restrictions.

Glad most of your cruise was good. I get it tho. If people could just be helpful in those situations, everyone would be happy.
