Review summary

I will be contacting Regent directly about the last minute change in room. The fact that they, without notification, changed our room that we specifically selected is not an acceptable practice. The fact they didn't even offer a render to Edinburgh was also a very poor move. Great itinerary, tired ship, great staff.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
OK but they "upgraded" us and moved us out of our selected and preferred cabin without notifying us at the check-in at the pier.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The ship is tired and outdated

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Ah, but we got put in 1008 at the front of the ship and there is a lot more motion there. The room is no different.

Ship tip

Lacks variety of restaurants vs the new ships from Regent

Spent $900.00 for tickets to the Edinburgh Tattoo.. The captain told us around 11AM that he was afraid of the wind and getting through locks so it became a sea day. My $900 down the drain and our most looked forward to event ruined with no compensation.

We were on land for the Tattoo and saw stormy weather. Our ticket purchase came with the promise that it has “…never been rained out or canceled.” Torrential rains didn’t stop the parade but we couldn’t see anything through the downpour

So unfortunate you missed the port. If I purchase from an outside vendor I always make sure there is a refund policy. Thank you for sharing your experience.

did you book the excursion through the line? usually if a port is missed the line refunds the excursion, if you booked on your own.... that's on you. that's why they always recommend booking with the line

Sadly ports get cancelled, but ouch! We always decline all upgrades at time of booking, so that there are no surprises
