Review summary

Cruise was cut short due to hurricane, so the itinerary was changed to eliminate the stop in Cozumel, which left only 2.5 days of sailing (sitting in the middle of the ocean). Expected that the itinerary would have been changed to include a stop somewhere closer to Tampa (Key West??). Understand the logistical issues, but disappointed that there were no shore excursions available.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Checked in online, Quick boarding at the terminal

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Buffet had a wide selection and very good food. Main restaurant had small portions and some of the entrees were less than overwhelming.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Due to the hurricane shortened voyage, we never got off the ship, spent most of the time in the pool area, which was generally a bit crowded. Rock wall, mini golf and basketball / pickle ball areas were nice and usually open.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Magician and comedian were really good, but shows short. Not a fan of the Broadway musical show. Music was nearly always available somewhere on the ship and most was good especially the atrium show on the final night.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Everyone was friendly and very helpful.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Ship was easy to get around and very clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Like most cruise cabins, it is kind of small, but quiet and conveniently located on the ship near the elevator / stairs.

Ports of call

Tampa, Florida

4 out of 5
With the delay due to the hurricane, we had an extra day in Tampa, which seemed nice, but most activities (city cruises and tours) had not reopened after the storm, limiting the options available.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Used the option to disembark carrying our own luggage and left as soon as it was possible to leave. Line was relatively short, disembarked wuickly and taxis were waiting right outside the terminal.

When you choose to sail during hurricane season you need to expect changes.

They probably couldn't do soemwhere like Key West because of the Jones Act. In short, any passenger ship that embarks at a US port must call on an international port before disembarking at a US port if any other port was called on. Without enough time to get to mexico you wouldn't have been able to get an international port to be able to call at Key West.

Yep, itineraries can be changed at any given time. Thank you for sharing your experience.

Are you crazy! Did you want to be in the middle of a hurricane? Of course they wouldn't go where winds and waves were high. Wind and rain extends way out from the center of the hurricane. We even felt it in Phoenix, Arizona! That is part of cruising and they want to keep you and the ship safe.
